The big order that wants you to "pay my shipper"STOLEN CARD
A real scam people fell for this year, next to the real thing. The numbers mark the three things to check: hover or tap one to see what it tells you.
Hi there, we run a café in Shediac and would like 6 cases of your 1 L maple syrup for our fall menu.
Could you send a quote with tax? We can pay by invoice, or come by your farm shop on Saturday to pick up and pay.
Thanks, Julie Cormier, Café Marée, 506-555-0143
Hello, I would like to order 40 cases of your 500 ml maple syrup for a family reunion overseas. Please send me the total. I will pay with my credit card.
My private shipper will pick up the order. He does not take cards, so please add $3,400 for him to the card charge and send it to him by e-Transfer once the payment clears.
I am deaf so email only please. This is urgent. Mark
Always check the shipper.
A buyer who wants you to charge his card extra and send the difference to "his shipper" is using a stolen card. The charge gets reversed weeks later, and the money you sent is gone.
julie@cafemaree.ca is a café down the road, with a phone number to call.
markdavis1960@yahoo.com is a stranger who can "only do email".
Send a quote, and get paid by invoice or at pickup.
Add $3,400 to his card and e-Transfer it to his shipper.
No rush, pick up on Saturday.
"Urgent", a big order, email only.
RememberNever send money to a buyer's shipper, mover or planner. If an order needs you to pay someone, it's a stolen card.
