The Scam Test is a test about being tricked online, so it would be odd to track you. It doesn't.

What is counted

  • For each scam: how many times it was shown and how many times someone picked it. That gives the “73% of people fall for this” figures.
  • For each finished test: the score, 0 to 10. That gives “you did better than 62% of people”.
  • How many tests were started, finished and shared, and how many people clicked through to Danger Stamp.

Those are plain counters. No answer is tied to a person, a browser, an address or a time.

What is never stored

  • Your name. If you type a first name for a challenge link, it lives in that link and nowhere else. Leave it blank and the link says “a friend”.
  • Your email address. The “send it to someone” buttons open your own email app; nothing goes through us.
  • Cookies. There are none. The page counter (Vercel's own) counts visits without any.

Danger Stamp

The test is made by the people behind Danger Stamp. Links to it carry a note that you came from the test, so installs from here can be counted. That is all they carry. Danger Stamp has its own privacy page.
