Always check the address.

The Met's look and name on an address that doesn't end in police.uk. A "case" against your bank account is the hook: the "officer" who calls next wants your money moved to a "safe account".

1Where it livesCheck firstIs it the real company's or person's own address or number?

met.police.uk is the Metropolitan Police's own site. UK police sites end in police.uk.

metpolice-casefile.online is a .online address anyone can buy for a few pounds.

2What it asks you to doDoes it want a password, a payment, a call, or a tap?

It tells you how to report fraud, and asks for nothing.

It wants your name, date of birth and mobile number so an "officer" can call you.

3How hard it pushesIs there a deadline, a threat, or a surprise charge?

No threat.

Your bank account is "linked to a fraud case", and an officer will call you.

RememberUK police sites end in police.uk. The police never ask you to move your money. If an "officer" calls, hang up and ring 101 yourself.
